Who We Are

A professional body for people who work with polymers.

APRI is concerned with the science and technology of polymers. Our members are researchers, engineers, manufacturers, educators and students working across the plastics and rubber industries in Australia and New Zealand.

The Institute has been independent since 1992, when Australasian members voted to separate from the UK body and run their own affairs. It is governed by an Australasian Council drawn from state representatives, and every financial member can vote and stand for it.

About the APRI

What the Institute Does

Quarterly journal
Technical papers, research and industry news, four issues a year, sent to every financial member.
Seminars and meetings
State coordinators run technical seminars, dinners and networking events through the year, at member rates.
Standards Australia
The Institute nominates members to Standards Australia's polymer technical committees, which is how the industry gets a say in the standards it works to.
Qualified grades
Associate (AAPRI) and Fellow (FAPRI) are awarded on application and recognise experience and qualification in the polymer industries.
The George Milne Medal
Awarded by the Council since 1964 for significant contribution to the Institute and the industry. See the past medallists.

European Conference on Constitutive Models for Rubber (ECCMR XIV)

The fourteenth edition of the biennial conference on constitutive modelling for rubber. It brings together academia and industry across rubber mechanics, material behaviour and simulation. The programme runs to plenary lectures, presentations of original research and posters, and written papers are published in the conference proceedings.
